For the Europeans, Attila was far more than a ruler. He was a punishment sent from the heavens; the scourge of divine justice, a force striking through time like lightning to restore balance.
This scourge carried not only destruction but also atonement: every sin committed, every truth ignored, returns, bearing its lesson.
When Porphyrios rose from the seas and struck the shores of Constantinople, the people believed it was not a whale, but a purple omen sent by God. After the earthquake that devastated Antioch, the Orontes River changed its course. From the bed it abandoned, a giant skeleton emerged; priests declared it the spirit of the river.
When disasters arrive, it is not the mind but the heart that seeks meaning. And in that search, one either clings to life or surrenders to the shadows.
And you? Whose punishment, whose lesson were you born to embody in this world?
In our first two exhibitions, our characters deciphered the myths of the world from their offices in Istanbul, pursuing ancient secrets. This time, the same protagonists turn inward, toward their own mysteries.
In the rhythm of daily life, carrying groceries home or during a coffee break, in a single sentence or a fleeting glance, they recognize what lessons, what signs they have become for themselves, for others, and for life itself.
And we, in turn, follow these realizations. In the shadow of the divine, we witness what is hidden within the ordinary.
